A sad piece of news: In the night from Saturday (28th January) on Sunday (29th January), the French assistant referee Stéphane Duhamel has committed suicide. He was found after having hanged himself.
He ran the lines of his brother - FIFA referee Laurent Duhamel - for a long time in UEFA Champions League and in several other club and nations competitions.
Stéphane Duhamel finished his career at the end of 2011 and was consequently taken from the FIFA list at the start of 2012. The reasons for his suicide are not known by now. He became 42 years old.
